Right For You?

With so many parrots types how does one choose? Before you choose one, the best place to start is by researching the different parrot species.
It is truly a subjective choice as each species has its own unique and endearing characteristics. Lets take a look at a few of the more popular parrots types right now.
Parrots hues vary widely, but many of them are green and almost all of them are brightly colored, with few exceptions. Some appear small and cuddly while others are large and have a rather regal bearing.
Most are playful, inquisitive birds that love company. What makes them a favorite of many people is their ability to talk and to mimic human voices as well as alarm clocks, phone rings, microwave ovens and more!
Parrots are grouped according to their color, size, nature and place of origin. There is a brief description of some of the most common parrots types below.

The Macaw’s favorite habitat is dense rainforest and they have a bizarre habit of eating clay, most likely because of needed minerals present in this material.
In order to tame a Macaw you need patience and perseverance. Don’t give up or get discouraged. Should you fall behind on your training it will be like having an undisciplined child on your hands and we all know how fun that can be!
